Q: Do I have to pay to set up a Preneed arrangement?
A: No. Only if you want to pre-pay for your funeral expense, and there is no
extra charge to do so.
Q: Do I have to come in to the mortuary?
A: No, we can come to your home if you call and set up an appointment with us
(619)583-9511.
Q: Can setting up a preneed help me qualify for Government
Assistance like Medicaid?
A: Yes, make sure you tell the funeral director that you want an Irrevocable
Trust/Insurance policy. Such a policy will set money aside and help you qualify
for Government Assistance like Medicaid.
Q: If I move away from San Diego County can my policy be transferred?
A: Yes, the money is yours until services are rendered by a mortuary, and can
be transferred to another mortuary in a different state or county. The new funeral
home may not honor the guaranteed prices, but they will use the money you have
set aside toward your funeral expenses.
Q: I already have a life insurance policy, why should I pay
for my funeral now?
A: Pre-paying a funeral policy Guarantees todays prices. This means that the
mortuary will provide the services contracted and you will not owe anything
in addition to what you have already paid in your preneed plan. If you choose
not to pay at the time of your preneed and you live another 20 years, our prices
may double in that amount of time.
Q: What items are not guaranteed?
A: Non-guaranteed items are all of the fees from outside vendors. Some examples
are: death certificates, state fees, flowers, clergy, church fees, music, newspaper
notices, shipping charges, cemetery charges, and other funeral directors.
