Chris passed away peacefully at Sharp Parkview Hospice house in San Diego on December 8th, 2019. Chris was born and raised in the small towns of Kerby and Cave Junction Oregon. After high school she moved to San Diego to attend business school. She had a long career as a legal secretary. She was married to John C. Leppert for 28 years. Chris had two step children, John D. Leppert and Lorraine L. Edgar both of San Diego. Surviving Chris are two half sisters, Betty Jean Whitehead of Enterprise, Oregon and Carla Jean Duncan of Portland Oregon. She was involved with many clubs and with her fine organizational skills and attention to detail she was a asset to many committees. She never wanted to leave San Diego, but always made sure she went back to her lovely home town of Cave Junction, Oregon yearly. She was instrumental in organizing the annual combined high school reunions, which over the years became a huge undertaking. She also was involved in the Cave Junction Historical Society. Chris was a dedicated Charger and San Diego State football fan and always enjoyed the games, but especially the tailgate parties. Per her wishes she will be buried next to her Mother Eleanora Whitehead and her Grandmother Vivian T. Grimmett in Cave Junction in the Spring.

We are saddened by the loss of our beloved Chris. She was always so full of love and laughter. In our heavy heart, she will always be remembered for the good times at football games, dinner outings, and visits with her at her home. I have to admit, she always had a good book or two that she sent home with me. My live and memories with her goes back many years; there isn't enough room here to share.

Rest peacefully Miss Chris.

With lots of continued love,

Kim (Crouch) and Dan Vaughn
