Dear Karl, I'm sorry I didn't get to talk with you more often after retirement. Our working days, mostly nights, are special memories. We did have a fun time jamming with your friends. Fortunately, we spent a little time together with Chris and Patricia over coffee and chit-chat. You were and will be a good friend. I sorry you didn't get your family time in Colorado after you retired like you mentioned to me one night at work. God bless you Marine, and guard over us still pounding mother earth. We are counting on your vigilant eyes and ears to help us through our days until we can join you and all the guardian angels. Until that fateful day arrives, you will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss of Carl. I may have only known him while working with him at the Zoo, but he always made me laugh. We had some great conversations and i leaned so much from him. I thank him for his service and he is and will be missed. May Carl Rest In Peace. God Bless all who got the chance to know him.

I only knew Carl a few short years, however, I knew him enough to know that he was a very kind and generous person. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Carl.

It is with great sorrow that I express my most sincere condolences to you and the rest of the Kiefer family. As Carl's manager and a brother Marine, I hold fond memories of his military demeanor which I always found refreshing in today's work environment. Carl, was always professional, had great presence, said what he ment and ment what he said, was for the most part serious in character and was loved and respected by all. As his department manager, I rested well knowing Carl was on the job working nights. From when Carl retired, his presence was missed and even more so now. It has been both a pleasure and a privilege to have worked and known him. He left each and every one of us a memory of himself which we will always carry and cherish. Rest in Peace my fellow Marine.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Carl for the past 20 years, he was a coworker and friend.
Carl performed his job for the zoo with the diligence and duty worthy Of his Marine Corps background He was all in. He was Generous and kind and could be counted on to do the right thing. I feel privileged to have worked with him.
Rest in peace Carl, job well done!
