Sharon Jean Hoolihan was born in Noble, Oklahoma, on March 12,1930, and went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2020. Sharon graduated from El Centro High School in El Centro, California in 1947. She was married for the past 61 years to her husband, Don Hoolihan, who survives her passing with a broken heart.

Also remembering Sharon’s love and their love for her are her three children: Deborah Maffioli, Marsha Maffioli Lewis (Larry), and Jim Maffioli. Sharon was a loving homemaker and stay-at-home mom, giving her children the love and guidance they still cherish today and that will be with them always.

Sharon is also survived by many special friends and family that she cherished so deeply, including her brother, Dennis Rainwater; her three grandchildren, Jason Maffioli (Heather), Amy Shearer (Joe), and Nathan Maffioli (Diana); and six great-grandchildren, Griffin, Archer, Katelyn, Kamden, Gia and Camila.

I will always remember Sharon as a genuinely sweet person with a keen and ready sense of humor and a warm smile. I always felt accepted and loved even though I know at first she had some reservations about her daughter's choice of a husband. Ha! She always had on hand my favorite flavor of ice cream and cookies. We shared many times of laughter but also some times of deep discussion in particular about God's ultimate purpose and design for every detail and circumstance of our lives. These
moments are priceless in the treasury of my memories of her. I will miss her as we are separated for a season of time until we as believers in the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ will be reunited forever with our Father in heaven.

We are grieving our loss, Mom, but rejoicing with you as you are now in the arms of Jesus. You were, and always will be, our families inspiration, with a smile and kind word for everyone and a fierce love for your husband, children, and family. You were truly a gift from God, and your wisdom and love will carry-on in our family for a very long time. I miss you so much Mom.

As we remember that beautiful and precious mom, wife, sister, grandma, nana, and special friend, I know our thoughts will always be, “She always made me feel special.” God puts special people in our lives to give us direction, give us hope, and to guide us in our search to find the true meaning and purpose of love.

As her eternal journey continues, everyone can take comfort in knowing that--whether she was near or miles away--you could feel her presence. Her special gifts for giving direction, hope, guidance, and true love are a blessing for all who knew her and continue to be as we seek wisdom and understanding in our personal life journeys.

Most importantly, her love continues to be felt. As is often said, love lasts for a lifetime. Sharon and I committed to one another that our love would be forever. Though there is a pause because our earthly life has separated us physically from one another, in Spirit our love still binds us together and will forever.

It is our prayer and joy that all who read these words share in that path of Love with us.

The husband of the best wife ever!
