Aidan Michael Dougherty

August 19, 2005 — January 6, 2024

Aidan Michael Dougherty passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 6, 2024, in San Diego, California. Aidan was eighteen, and a San Diego native.  He was a beautiful young man, with a kind and compassionate heart. Aidan was fiercely loyal to friends and family. He loved the outdoors, especially watching the stars at night. He had a creative soul, which he expressed through music, art, and writing. He also loved video gaming with his friends. Aidan was a senior at Valhalla High School, and was enrolled to attend Northern Arizona University in the fall. Aidan was active outside of school, and had recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at Boy Scouts of America, Troop 362. His passing leaves a tremendous hole in the lives of his friends and family, and we will forever miss his keen mind, beautiful smile, and the absolute warmth of the deep love he felt for others.

Aidan is the son of Rodger Dougherty, Jr. and Jody Bryant. He is survived by his parents; his brothers Rodger Dougherty, III and Griffin Dougherty; his stepfather Geoff Bryant, and stepmother De Anna Dougherty; step siblings Caroline, Lauren, Evelyn, Franki and Roy; and many other loving family members.

There will be a celebration of life for Aidan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20th, at Journey Community Church in La Mesa, CA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Aidan’s honor can be sent to NAMI, a wonderful organization that supports people struggling with mental health issues. https://namisandiego.org/. Please indicate that the gift is in memory of Aidan Dougherty.
