Alexander Asencio Tejeda, 73, a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and proud father of four children from National City, California, was called home by the Lord on February 16, 2026, where he passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in San Diego, California on April 18, 1952 to Louis and Rafaela Tejeda at Mercy Hospital. He was number four of fourteen children. Alexander attended Kimball Elementary, National City Junior High, and Sweetwater High before joining the United States Marine Corps on December 8, 1969, and assigned to the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, California. He eventually would work at AT&T and retire after 41 years as a Maintenance Splicing Technician.
Alexander was a deeply devoted and loving: father to his four children Victoria, Alex, Arturo and Marisa, husband to his lovely wife Josefina, grandfather to thirteen grandchildren and to two great-grandsons all who were his pride and joy, who dearly miss him and the countless life lessons that he imparted to them. For example, “I’m from Missouri, show me!”, and "to always keep the Lord in your in heart." He was and will forever be known as "Tata Chamaco" to his grandkids and Pops to everyone else.
Alexander was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. He is survived by his wife Josefina; children Victoria, Alex, Arturo and Marisa and bonus child Eric; bonus-bonus children Jaime, Lawrence, Lizzy and Cynthia; grandchildren Lawrence, Benjamin, Alex, Iliana, Gabriela, Elijah, Hannah, Mia, Samantha, Xavier, Aaliyah, Leah and Sophia; and great-grandsons Santiago and Angel, and his remaining four brothers Louis, Fernando, Michael, Robert and five sisters Yolanda, Lupe, Cecilia, Eusebia, and Olympia.
Alexander’s passions were his grandchildren, playing golf, strawberry shakes, family time, sunsets, his pugs, a loving-united family, and his honey Josefina. He leaves a legacy of faith in God, love, compassion, passion, hospitality and generosity to all who had the honor of knowing Alexander, aka Pops & Tata Chamaco. He will be forever missed!
