Angela Cecellia Bonaparte

July 23, 1929 — July 5, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Angela C. Bonaparte on July 5, 2024 at the age of 94.

Born on July 23, 1929, in Washington, DC, where she grew up before joining the US Air Force from 1955 - 1957, and resided in San Diego, CA at the time of her passing, where she lived for over 30 years. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband James Bonaparte, and a devoted mother to her children.

Angela C. Bonaparte lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents, who traveled the world as an Airforce non- commissioned officer and military spouse where she lived in Taiwan, China teaching English to adult students. Angela was educated at University of the District of Columbia where she studied communications; Prince George's Community College where she studied Business Administration, as well as cosmetology at Staunton School of Cosmetology. Angela was federal, government employee (Postal Service, Patent Office, and Veterans Affairs) for over 30 years. She was a student administrator at the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind, fluent in ASL. She served as activities director for many years at The Springs Apartments in La Mesa where she resided for over 30 years. She had a passion for cooking and baking, and her homemade dishes were always the highlight of family gatherings. She enjoyed reading books, solving crossword puzzles, and was an especially avid cards player.

Angela was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile, quick wit, and warm personality.

Angela received the gift of the Holy Spirit at age 65, and was baptized into the Church of Christ on August 28th, 1998. Angela was a faithful and active member of the 38th Street Church of Christ. Angela truly loved and adored her Church family and spoke fondly of them often.
