Anne Carolyn Szot

Anne Carolyn Szot (nee Fisher) of Santa Clarita, California, passed away on September 4, 2024. She was 85. Anne was born on June 9, 1939, in Wooster, Ohio, to parents Curtis Conrad and Esther Louise Fisher. She had one brother, Gary Curtis Fisher (1938-2019). She graduated from Wooster High School and then worked for Rubbermaid before relocating to Southern California. In California, she worked for the Automobile Club of Southern California, then enjoyed a 30-year career with Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park. She retired from Six Flags in 2009.

Anne was a member of both the Santa Clarita United Methodist Church and Sherman Oaks Methodist Church, where she devoted much of her free time to prayer, Bible study, teaching Sunday School, and other types of service, including teaching English as a second language, Clown Ministry and the Sierra Service Project. She relished time with friends, going to brunch after church, taking random road trips with her son, shopping with her daughter, and participating in her weekly bowling league. She loved music, flower-arranging, gift-giving, word searches, crossword puzzles, the beach, Disneyland and breakfast at McDonalds. But, most of all, she loved her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela Nickell and son Kristopher Szot, grandson Jordan Szot, and granddaughters Hallee Szot and Savannah Nickell. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Hope Gardens in Los Angeles.
