Anthony "Tony" Hogan, born on January 27, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on July 2, 2025, in El Cajon, California. Tony will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his broad sense of humor, qualities that brightened the lives of those around him.

Tony served his country honorably as a yeoman in the Navy for six years, an experience that shaped his early adulthood and instilled in him values of discipline and service. After his time in the Navy, he transitioned into a rewarding career as a painter for the Navy in civil service, where he continued to contribute to the community he cherished.

A devoted husband to Peggy Hogan and a loving father to Angela Hogan-Chesnut, Tony embraced family life with enthusiasm. He found boundless joy in his role as a grandfather, showering affection upon his grandchildren, Sydney, aged 8-1/2, and Liam, aged 7. His smiles would illuminate the room during their visits, embodying the true spirit of a proud grandfather.

Tony's warm and caring nature extended beyond the immediate family. He was known for his thoughtfulness; on chilly mornings, he would take the time to warm up the car so that it would be comfortable for Peggy and Angela. His humor was legendary, often leaving his wife and daughter in fits of laughter, a testament to his joyful personality.

In addition to his family life, Tony had a zest for activities that brought him delight. He was an avid bowler, participating in four different leagues per week, showcasing his competitive spirit. He also had a penchant for gambling, often humorously referring to his sisters-in-law—Janet, Joanna, and June, and his wife's cousin, Cris—as his second through fifth wives due to their support during his gambling endeavors.

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Hogan; his daughter Angela Hogan-Chesnut and son-in-law Dennis Chesnut; his cherished grandchildren Sydney and Liam; and his aunt Daisy Jones, along with uncle Robert (Sunny) Sims. He will also be remembered by a large extended family that includes a multitude of sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews from California, Mississippi, Missouri, and Ohio.

He joins in eternal rest his beloved mother, Eileen Hogan; father, J. C. Robinson; sister, Carolyn (Faye) Hogan; brothers Benny and Henry Robinson; aunts, Doris Barnett and Lois Johnson; uncles, Lorenzo, Carl, Harry, and Melvin Sims; cousin Michael Ward; nephew D'mitri Tigue; mother-in-law Betty Stracener; sister-in-law Susan Sullivan; brothers-in-law Paul Garcia, Steven Gunn, and Stanley Gunn, as well as many other family members who have passed throughout the years.

As we reflect on Tony's life, we celebrate a man who embodied love, laughter, and loyalty. He leaves behind a legacy of joy and kindness that will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew him.
