Armando Andrade, 89, of Jamul, California passed away August 7, 2025. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Armando was born July 22, 1936 in Los Angeles, California, the son of Alberto and Candelaria Andrade. He married Irene Valdovino in San Diego, California and they were happily married for 62 years. She preceded him in death May 2022.
Surviving are his son Armando A. (Amanda) Andrade, San Diego, CA and his daughter R. Christine (Michael) Parsell, Chandler, AZ ; grandson Kyle (Rachel) Hamblin
He was preceded in death by his three brothers; Jose, Carlos and Edward and two sisters Patricia Andrade and Bertha Andrade.
Armando moved to El Paso, Texas in 1940 and graduated from Bowie High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S Army during the Korean War, stationed in Japan as a Paratrooper. He moved to San Diego in 1959 and became an Ironworker with his brothers. He was a lifetime member of the Iron Workers Union, Local 229. He retired 1991, and enjoyed traveling to Europe and many other places with his wife, Irene, who was the love of his life.
Armando was a dedicated family man and a devoted Catholic, a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Parish, Lemon Grove, California. He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11am, Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Parish, Lemon Grove, California, followed by a Military Honors Committal Service at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetary in San Diego, California at 1:00pm.
