Charles "Chuck" Alfred McIntire entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on August 31, 2024 at the age of 90. He was born in Annapolis, Maryland to Flora and Raymond McIntire and spent his early years living as a military family in Maryland, Hawaii, and settling in California. It was in San Diego that Chuck met the love of his life, June Keith while attending San Diego State University. They married in 1957 and had three children, Susan, Kenny, and David.
Chuck was a PE teacher for 43 years working for San Diego Unified School District. He coached track, cross country, soccer, and boys gymnastics. He also taught swim lessons and drivers education. Chuck's hobby was his wife, June, but he also loved photography! Everywhere they traveled, he took photos of glaciers, zoo animals, sunsets, and his grandkids.
In his early 40s, Chuck was introduced to faith in Jesus Christ and he found not only faith, but also peace in his life. He and June attended Shadow Mountain Community Church. He actively shared his faith with anyone who would listen and became a man of prayer and deep study of the Bible. We know without a doubt that Chuck was greeted with the words of Jesus from Matthew 25:21, "Well done good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of thy Lord."
Chuck is survived by his three adult children, Susie (Jim) Lackey, Kenny (Shelli) McIntire, and David (Susie) McIntire, 10 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
Donations may be given in honor of Charles to Shadow Mountain Community Church/missions.
