Cristina Boychuk, beloved wife, mother, and unapologetic truth-teller, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, strength, and unmatched sarcasm.
Born in Germany, Cristina immigrated to the United States as a young child, embracing her new home with the same determination and wit that would define her life. She married the love of her life, Dennis Boychuk, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage, countless laughs, and four incredible children: Angela Edwards, Denise, Danielle Rizzo, and Nicholas; She loved her grandchildren and their children: grandson Tyler and his wife Brittani, and great grandson Jaxson; granddaughter Hannah, her partner Pete, and great granddaughter Angellia.
Cristina retired after 33 dedicated years with Cox Manheim Chicago Auto Auction. In November 2018, she made the bold move to San Diego, California, with her daughter Denise—a decision that not only brought her closer to the beach and stunning sunsets but also confirmed what everyone already knew: Denise was the favorite.
Cristina was known for her razor-sharp, dry sense of humor, her fearless honesty, and her profound love of scotch. She told it like it was—whether you were ready or not. A lover of movies, she recently became an enthusiastic fan of Spanish novellas, despite never learning a word of Spanish. She had grand plans to take up crocheting, a hobby that, like some of her best one-liners, remained a promise never fulfilled.
She found joy in discovering new restaurants with Jeri, Judi, and Denise—never quite knowing where they were headed, but always trusting she'd enjoy the ride. Cristina brought laughter, insight, and genuine heart to every room she entered.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her unwavering love, wit, and her ability to keep it real—always.
