Dan Kelley Jr. of San Diego, CA, a proud veteran of the United States Army passed away May 4, 2023, with his children by his side.
The son of Dan and Thelma Kelley, he was born in Cheyenne Wyoming in 1958 and was the youngest of all his siblings. Dan attended Columbine Elementary School and Manual High School in Denver, Colorado.
Dan enrolled in the United States Army and traveled the world. He was stationed in Denmark Copenhagen, which he believed, was the most beautiful place in the world. While in the army he met Datannia (Tanny) Williams. Dan married Tanny in EL Paso Texas in 1981. Though this relationship wasn’t permanent, they did have children together and remained friends afterwards. Dan moved to San Diego California in the 90s where he enjoyed warm weather, beaches and frequent trips to Tijuana. Dan enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. Dan loved playing dominoes and always had a funny quote to say anytime he scored. We will remember Dan for his loving nature, generosity, adventurous spirit, ability to speak French, and his occasional, endearing stubbornness.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his children; Shauntell Kelley of Houston, Dan & Samantha Kelley of Aurora, Valentino Kelley of Omaha; his grandchildren, Saphania Kelley, Saydee Johnson, Justyce Kelley, Danny Kelley; his brothers; Vernon Perkins of Cheyenne and Troy Littlejohn of Wichita; sister Nancy Osborne of Rock Springs and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Dan Kelley Sr. mother Thelma Lee Kelley; brothers Robert Kelley and James Kelley, and sisters Julia Duncan and Jessie Tuggle.
