Dorothy Lou Sanger Warren, 89, of San Diego, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love.
Born on April 19, 1936, in Chicago, Dorothy grew up with a deep appreciation for education, family, and community. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and taught for several years, dedicating herself to shaping young minds with patience and care. Her commitment to learning and nurturing others left a lasting impression on many.
In 1970, Dorothy and her family moved to San Diego, where they remained for the rest of her life. She created a home filled with warmth, strength, and unwavering love, and was a welcoming host to everyone who entered. Her children and family were her highest priority, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to their happiness and well-being.
Dorothy shared a deep bond with her beloved husband, Henri Lewis Warren, Sr., and together they embraced adventure. She especially enjoyed traveling with him, including memorable motorcycle trips that took them across the country and around the world. Those journeys reflected her adventurous spirit and her love of experiencing life side by side.
Her faith was a steady and guiding presence throughout her life. Dorothy regularly attended church and, in her later years, was a devoted member of Fletcher Hills Presbyterian Church. She found great joy in Sunday School and worship services, drawing strength and fellowship from her church community.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henri Lewis Warren, Sr., and her son, Kenneth Lee Warren.
Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Henri Lewis Warren, Jr. (Frances Warren), Kari Lou Robeson (Andrew Robeson), and Della Warren Bloom (Mark Bloom); 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life. Dorothy’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, faith, hospitality, and devoted love for her family will continue for generations to come.
