Edward was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Edward and Freida Doyle.
   
   He attended St. Rose of Lima and Nativity grade schools,
   
   and  graduated from Cretin High School in 1948.
   
   He then enrolled at the University of Minnesota and earned a
   
   Bachelor of Science degree in Business in 1953.
   
   
   Edward joined the Minnesota Air National Guard, then the
   
   Air Force Reserves  and Air Force.  He was a Supervisor Officer of a
   
   Medical Evacuation Unit. He served twenty three years, earning
   
   the rank of Major.
   
   
   He worked in the medical equipment field, starting his own company.  Edward later
   
   was a consultant to  entrepreneurs in business development in Orange County, California.
   
   
   Ed was especially interested in medical and  scientific technology and environmental issues.
   
   Having a keen mind, a  sense of humor, and a bit of Irish, he loved to talk and tell stories.
   
   
   After a brief illness, he died peacefully surrounded by family.
   
   
   He is survived by his six children, Stephen, Daniel, Jennifer, Andrew,
   
   David, Melanie, and three grandsons, one great granddaughter, and several step-grandchildren.
   
   
   The family would like to thank the League House of La Jolla, La Jolla Nursing and Rehab,
   
   Scripps Hospice  and  Veteran's Hospital of  La Jolla.
