July 11, 1938 – February 8, 2023
Eileen Josephine Dibos, age 84 of La Mesa, CA entered eternal rest on February 8, 2023 after a long, courageous battle with COPD. Born July 11, 1938 in San Diego, Eileen was the second of 12 children. She grew up in North Park, attended grade school at St. Patrick’s and graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Peace in 1956.

Eileen worked in numerous departments at Mercy Hospital, most notably as the Executive Secretary of Fiscal Administration. She later became an Administrator at the SDG&E Telecom Building in Serra Mesa.

Beautiful and intelligent, feisty and spunky, caring and selfless, she was a confidant and mentor to many. She loved classic movies, the beach and the zoo, watching tennis (especially when Rafael Nadal was playing) and singing. She and her sisters, Mary, Anne-Marie and Francie, delighted audiences at family gatherings when they performed together as The Diamond Sisters. Her signature songs were “You Belong to Me” and “Qué Será, Sera.”

Eileen was a wonderful and loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert J. Dibos, Sr., her mother, Anne E. Dibos, and her brothers, Robert J. Dibos, Jr. and Thomas Dibos. Eileen will be greatly missed by her children, Stephen (Patricia) Navarro, who lovingly cared for her during her last two years of her life, and Kelly (Thomas) Todak; her grandson, three granddaughters and great-granddaughter; her 3 sisters and 6 brothers, William, Joseph, Jerome, John, Stephen and Michael; as well as many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends.
