Emily Jane Montepagano

Emily Croymans Montepagano was born and raised in Los Angeles California. After Graduating high school (Conaty Memorial) in 1949 Emily went into nurse’s training at Mercy Hospital in San Diego and graduated in 1952. As a student nurse Emily met her husband of 54 years, William (Bill) Montepagano, and they were married in 1957. Emily worked for Dr James McLaggan for ten years as a Pediatric nurse and worked for Dr.  Bruce Prenner for thirty years as an allergy nurse. 

Emily was an active member of St. Therese Parish and served as a Lector for over 15 years. Emily belonged to Sigma Alpha sorority for 35 years, serving as National President in 1996 and as Executive Secretary from 1989 to 1994. 

Emily was devoted to her family: her sons Marcus (Cheryl), Robert (Cindy), her grandson Sean, Wesley (Kristen), and Mitchell (Alexandria) and her 5 great grandchildren Harlow, Oliver, Everly, Jackson and Jet. Emily is survived by her sister Gerry (John) niece Linda, John Jr., Howard and James. 

A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday February 15^th at St Therese Catholic Church located at 6400 Saint Therese Way, San Diego, CA 92120 at 11:00am. Emily will be laid to rest at Fort Rosecrans with her husband Bill. Reception Immediately following Mass in Murry Hall at the church.
