In honor of a life well lived
Errol Ronald Rhodes, was born on March 2, 1957, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky to Ronald J. and Elfriede R. Rhodes. He was sent to his eternal home on May 8, 2025, in San Diego, California due to complications of respiratory failure. Errol is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Alma, his brother Harry, sister-in-law Edna and his niece, Andrea, as well as many friends and extended family members.
Errol was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Errol’s passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends, as well as many more whose lives were touched by his. Those who knew Errol will remember him for his deep-rooted faith in Jesus and his unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone he encountered. This memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved.
A true gentleman and a loving companion, Errol’s kind heart touched everyone he met. He was a very loving husband and his Alma will forever cherish the many memories they made together. Errol was the love of Alma’s life for almost 33 years; they were best friends. She will be forever grateful for the life they shared, filled with laughter, love and adventure.
Errol possessed an unquenchable thirst for spiritual wisdom. He spent his spare time researching topics of interest, studying his Bible and reading a variety of theological books. Errol had many hobbies, his favorite was taking pictures. He also loved playing his keyboard and their grand piano, as well as spending time outdoors enjoying the sunshine.
Errol held a number of occupations throughout his 45-year career. He worked in both the pest control industry and the restaurant business before joining the US Navy, where he served as a hospital corpsman. He was employed at SAIC /LEIDOS, where he worked as a computer systems administrator for 26 years. Errol will be remembered for his dedication, fairness and compassion in the workplace. He left a lasting impact on those he served and worked alongside.
Although Errol’s life may no longer grace ours, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift. May his memory be a blessing and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. As Errol worships in heaven, his light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
To honor the life of Errol R. Rhodes, a funeral service will be held Friday, June 6, 2025 at 12:45 p.m., at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California. Military honors will be conferred. Following the memorial, a celebration of life will take place at Mission Bay, De Anza Cove, at 2:00 p.m.
