Esther Romo

February 2, 1946 — December 7, 2023

Esther Romo (Ahumada) 77, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was surrounded by the love of her cherished children and grandchildren.

She was born on February 2, 1946 in San Diego, California to Justina Rodriguez, who was from Zacatecas, Mexico. She was one of five children and was an identical twin. 

During her childhood years she lived in San Diego, Long Beach and Mexico. She graduated from San Diego High School in 1965.

She married in 1968 and bought her first home in Allied Gardens in 1972. She raised her three children there where she lived for 34 years.

She leaves behind three loving children Monica (Sean), Cecilia (Richard) and Rudy Jr (Katie).
Also her grandchildren who adored her (Monica) - Tiana, Christina, Daniel Jr, Amiya and Raivynn. (Cecilia) - Vanessa, Arianna, Isabella and Alexia. (Rudy Jr) - Christian , Vincent, Dax and Brody. 
 Great Grandchildren , (Tiana) Lucas and (Christina) Quincy and Quinn

Esther was such a beautiful person and always greeted everyone with happiness and love. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved passing down family traditions and favorite recipes to her children and grandchildren.

Esther was a deeply spiritual woman who shared God’s love with others. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and was loved and admired by many. She was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church.

Esther raised her children while working for The Broadway (Macys) for 16 years. She also worked at Party City and loved dressing up for Halloween. She loved to make treat bags at Halloween for all the neighborhood kids . Esther loved the holidays. She has passed down that love for holiday decorating to her children.

She is preceded in death by her twin sister, Laura.

She was the matriarch of our family and will be deeply missed beyond words. Her legacy will live on forever. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

During this difficult time, our family appreciates the condolences and love we have received.
