Born on March 31, 1936, in Wardell, Missouri, George departed just ten days shy of his 90th birthday, concluding a long and accomplished life marked by unwavering commitment to his country, his career, and his family.

George served honorably in the United States Navy for four years, a period that instilled in him a deep sense of discipline, dedication, and patriotism. His military service was a foundation upon which he built a distinguished career in the federal government, holding various positions over a span of 25 years. Throughout his tenure, George's exemplary work ethic and professionalism earned him numerous Achievement Awards, reflecting his steadfast commitment to excellence and public service.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, George was a man who cherished the time he spent with family and friends. Known for his genuine warmth and kindness, he went out of his way to make those around him feel special and inspired many to strive for their best. His legacy is carried on through the many lives he touched and the values he exemplified.

George cherished his family deeply and leaves behind a large and devoted circle of loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Marisa McGee; his children, George Jr., Raymond, and Georgina; step-children Connie and Angie; as well as his grandchildren Nicole, George III, Demetrius, Robert, Dominic, Kaitlyn, Joseph, Jocelyn, and Ray. The great-grandchildren who carry forward his spirit include Anthony, Geonni, Chari, Demetria, George, Hope, Allan, Parker, Robert, and Carmelo. George also held a special place in his heart for numerous nieces and nephews, whom he cared for dearly.

George’s parents, Beatrice and Cephus, along with his siblings Cephus, Jeremiah, Dorothy, Mary, and Noemi, preceded him in death. Their memories remain integral to the story of his life and the foundation of his family.

Services to honor George McGee’s life will be held on April 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Featheringill Mortuary, located at 6322 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA. Those who knew George are invited to gather to celebrate his enduring legacy, reflect on his remarkable contributions, and pay their respects.
