Geraldine Angelina Hodge

 

We are sad to announce that Geraldine Angelina Ottonello Hodge (Gerry) passed away on October 19, 2023, after a battle with dementia.

 

Gerry was a native San Diegan born to Gio Batta Ottonello (from Genoa, Italy) and Aileen Ottonello of San Diego. She graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Home Economics and wrote a recipe column for Safeway Stores under the name "Jane Ross." She and her husband, Allan (Tony) Hodge started business in 1971 selling padlocks and other products out of their home. It grew into a thriving business that continues today.

 

Gerry was an accomplished cook and loved preparing meals for her family. She also loved to spend time in her garden. She always made time to keep up with her SDSU Home Economics group, sharing lunches together.

 

Gerry is survived by her loving Husband of 62 years, Allan (Tony), her Son Anthony, her Daughter Angela and her two Grandsons Zach and Riley. To them she was called "Nona."
