Maximino B. Concepcion and Purificacion Y. Concepcion gave birth to Gloria Concepcion on September 20, 1952.
Gloria was the fifth child of six. She was very proud of her heritage, and a fundamental part of her upbringing was her Catholic faith. Gloria went to private Catholic school from primary school through College, where she graduated at the Phillipine Women's University in 1975 with a Bachelor's in Home Economics. She furthered her degree in teaching, and taught both high-school and elementary school. In 1981, Gloria immigrated to U.S.A.
She lived with different members of her family, creating strong bonds with them, earning her nickname "Ate Glo", and creating so many memories that turned into the stories she would retell often and fondly.
Gloria met Stephen T. French while working on Base in 1984, and they fell in love and married on June 8th, 1985. They had 2 daughters, Stephanie Maxie Grace French and Ann Marie French. Gloria always worked 2 jobs to make sure her family never worried about money. She fought through diabetes since 1990, and endured dialysis and the complications of dialysis in 2013. She ultimately received a kidney transplant on February 22nd, 2022. In that timeline, her daughter Ann was married and had 2 daughters, Audriann Jazzlyn Ventura and Ava Ventura, whom Gloria adored. At the end of 2023, Gloria's health started to decline. She was diagnosed with dementia and began to fall frequently, so her family came together to try to help.
In 2025, Gloria began to feel sick more frequently, and by December of 2025, her kidneys were struggling to work. Ultimately, without much to do other than going back on dialysis, Gloria was put on hospice in February of 2026. She gave us a scare in March of 2026, but then gave us a happy surprise she seemed to be back at her baseline from April to July of 2026.
On July 13th, 2026, Gloria French passed peacefully, surrounded by her girls and receiving her final blessing by Father Minh.
