In Loving Memory of
Iluminada Triste Mulkey
October 12, 1943 – June 7, 2026
Surrounded by the love of her family, Iluminada "Lumen" Triste Mulkey peacefully entered eternal rest on June 7, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born in Pastrana, Leyte, Philippines, Lumen dedicated her life to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy came from caring for those she loved, especially her granddaughters, Aubree and Ava.
Known for her kindness, generosity, and beautiful smile, Lumen touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and cared for, often through the meals she lovingly prepared. Her chicken adobo was a family favorite, and her special dessert, kabak, brought joy to many family gatherings and celebrations.
Lumen was a devoted Catholic whose faith remained an important part of her life. She shared many years with her beloved husband, W.J. Mulkey, and together they built a family that became the center of her world. She was a devoted mother to Estelle, a loving mother-in-law to Jesse, and a proud grandmother to Aubree and Ava. She treasured every moment spent with them and loved watching her family grow through the years.
Even during the difficult years of illness, Iluminada tried to remain strong. Those who loved her witnessed her courage and determination, and they choose to remember not the challenges she faced, but the woman she was throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. Mulkey; her brother, Doling; and her sister, Basiling.
Those who knew and loved Iluminada ask that she be remembered not for the illness that changed her, but for the life she lived. Remember her beautiful smile, her caring heart, her generosity, her cooking, and the love she shared so freely with family and friends.
If she could leave one final message, it might be this:
"Please do not remember me for the challenges of my final years. Remember me as I was before... smiling, laughing, cooking for my family, and enjoying time with those I loved. Hold close the happy memories we shared, for they tell the story of who I truly was."
Though she is no longer with us, her love remains in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved husband, W.J. Mulkey, and at peace in the presence of the Lord.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
