James Timothy Anderson

James Timothy Anderson, 82, went to be with the Lord on January 14th, 2026 at his lifelong home in San Diego, California.

Tim (as he was known to his close friends) was born in Washington D.C. on November 21st, 1943. An alumnus of San Diego State University, he went on to post-grad studies at seminary and abroad.

He was proud to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps, and then gave 40+ faithful years at North Island Naval Base. He was a devoted church-goer and prayer warrior.

In retirement, Tim enjoyed Bible studies, spending time with friends, and walks around Lake Murray with his wife. Always ready to strike up a conversation with friends and strangers alike, Tim was a warm, generous host and beloved neighborhood fixture.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rachel Anderson, and their three children Jonathan, Naomi, and Daniela.

Tim’s final resting place will be at Miramar National Cemetary. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and hard work.
