Jeannie Salter - May 23, 1938 - December 1, 2021, La Mesa.
After a long battle with Parkinson’s disease, Jeannie Salter passed away on December 1, 2021. Jeannie was the daughter of Eugene Zralka & Amelia Salgado. She was born in San Diego, California and graduated from Helix High School in 1956. After being set up on a blind date for prom in May of 1956, Jeannie married W. Norman Salter on August 11, 1956. They celebrated 65 years of marriage this year.
She will always be remembered for her wonderful smile, cooking (especially apple pies and Texas sheet cake), and her love of quilting.
Jeannie is survived by her husband, Norman Salter, her three children, Shrisse Ninteman (Matt), William (Bill) N. Salter Jr., Sallie Heger (Nick), and Jean’s sister, Joye Farrar. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Matthew, Robert, Elizabeth, Christopher, Kimberly, Ryan, Theresa, Melissa, Andrea & Silas. She also had 22 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 16th, 2021 at 12:00 pm in Singing Hills Memorial Park, 2800 Dehesa Rd., El Cajon, CA 92019.
