Loretta Jean Berry

Loretta Jean Berry, August 6, 1932 - July 16, 2023

Loretta Jean Berry passed away on July 16, 2023 at Sharp Grossmont hospital due to complications of
age and heart disease. She was born on August 6, 1932 in Aurora Missouri to Burton Hamilton Berry and
Helen Evelyn Berry (nee Teller). She was the oldest of her 3 siblings, Reuben Leonard, Earl Hamilton
and Bonnie Lou Rea(nee Berry). Her parents and siblings preceded her in death.
Following graduation from Aurora High School she and a group of friends moved to Wichita Kansas to
work as operators for the phone company. It was in Wichita she met Clifton Ransom and they were
married June 25th 1957 in Miami Oklahoma. They had two sons, Randall Lee and Gregory Lynn which
she raised through the frequent moves Dads defense contracting work necessitated. As her sons moved
into high school Mom worked as a loan officer until her retirement.
Loretta is survived by son Randall and wife Rhonda, her son Gregory and wife Vilma, grandaughter
Naomi Susan Ransom and grandson Nathan Demillo Ransom, and many nieces and nephews. She will
be deeply missed by all.
