Lori Stinchfield, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at the age of 83 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Chicago, Lori graduated from Academy of Our Lady High School and attended Normal State Teacher’s College. She went on to build a life centered around family, friendship, faith, and a genuine interest in the people around her.

Lori was married to her husband, Jack Stinchfield, for 55 years. Throughout their marriage, she was an incredibly supportive partner to Jack and worked alongside him for many years in their family business, Stinchfield Financial Services. Together, they built a life filled with family, friendship, hard work, and adventure.

Lori and Jack shared a love of travel, particularly during their retirement years. They embraced the RV lifestyle and spent much of their retirement traveling and experiencing life on the road together. Other adventures included trips to Corsica, Paris, Athens, Turkey, Kau’i, Maui, Monaco, Cancun, Cozumel, the Virgin Islands, among others. In 2019, they moved to the San Diego area to be closer to their grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew, and Emily, who were an important part of Lori's life.

Lori also had a creative side and a natural talent for interior design. She turned that passion into her own business, Creative Interiors, where she was able to put her eye for design and creativity to work. Her artistic interests extended to painting ceramics as well, something she genuinely enjoyed. Creativity was simply another way Lori expressed herself and brought beauty into the world around her.

Anyone who knew Lori knew that she told it like it was. Her honesty and authenticity were among her most endearing qualities. She was quick to laugh, never afraid to share her opinion, and had a remarkable ability to connect with people wherever she went. Whether someone had known her for decades or had just met her, Lori had a way of making an impression.

That ability to connect with people remained with her throughout her life. Even during her final months, when her son Sean began helping with her medications and medical appointments, he repeatedly heard how much people enjoyed knowing her. The pharmacist at her local CVS told Sean that Lori was her favorite customer. Similarly, her doctors and their supports staff had a personal connection with her. These simple interactions reflected something her family and friends had always known: Lori had a special way with people.

She was also a fierce competitor with a lifelong love of games. Tennis was a significant part of her life for many years, and the friendships she developed on the tennis court endured for decades. Whether playing tennis, pickleball, ping pong, or cards, Lori enjoyed the competition and the friendships that came with it.

Lori also had a special love for animals. Dogs and cats were always part of the Stinchfield household, and she considered them part of the family.

Above all, Lori cared deeply about the people she loved. She was genuinely interested in their lives and wanted to know what they were doing, where they were going, and who they were spending time with. Her curiosity came from a place of love and a desire to be part of the lives of the people who mattered most to her.

When Lori was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August, she faced the news with remarkable courage and peace. Her faith was unwavering. She chose not to undergo chemotherapy and was not afraid of what lay ahead. She knew where she believed she was going, and that conviction brought her peace during her final weeks and comfort to those around her.

Lori leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Jack Stinchfield; her son, Sean Stinchfield; and her grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew, and Emily Stinchfield. She also leaves behind many lifelong friends and countless others whose lives were made brighter simply by knowing her.

She will be remembered for her honesty, her laughter, her creative spirit, her competitive nature, her love of animals, her devotion to her family, and perhaps most of all, her extraordinary ability to connect with people.

Lori will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A celebration of Lori's life will be held at 10:00 AM on October 24, 2026, at Calvary Chapel in Santee, California, where family and friends will gather to remember and celebrate a life well lived.
