Lynne Marie Siemann passed away on December 6, 2025, in San Diego, CA. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2026, at St. Therese Catholic Church in San Diego, with a reception to follow.

Lynne was born on October 9, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to John (Jack) Dale and Phyllis Kunzman Dale, and was the oldest of four children. She cherished a special bond with her sister, Karen, and brothers, John and Jeff; relationships that remained deeply meaningful throughout her life. Lynne and her siblings had a wonderful childhood, including road trips to a Wyoming dude ranch, Yellowstone National Park, and other fun places.

Lynne cherished her Iowa roots and took great pride in being a starter on the Girls’ Varsity Basketball team at La Salle Catholic High School in Cedar Rapids. She formed lifelong friendships in every chapter of her life and held close relationships with her grandparents, Ralph and Ethel Kunzman, and Bill and Fern Dale, as well as two of her great-grandparents, Sam and Jennie Dale, all of whom shaped her loving and generous spirit.

Lynne attended the University of Iowa, where she met the love of her life, Jim Siemann. They married on July 18, 1987, in Cedar Rapids, beginning a partnership filled with laughter, loyalty, and deep affection.

Jim and Lynne spent five years in Houston, TX, before settling in San Diego in 1988, where they built their family and a beautiful life together. Their adventures took them across Europe and to many island destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Hawaii. Yet their favorite place in the world was Lake Okoboji, Iowa—an annual family trip that Lynne looked forward to throughout the year.

A ten-year cancer survivor, Lynne lived with remarkable resilience and gratitude. The pride of Jim and Lynne’s life is their four children, Jimmy, Tommy, Karen, and Scott, and their daughter-in-law Michelle (wife of Jimmy), and their beloved grandchildren, Cecil and Madeline. Lynne is also survived by her siblings, Karen Lamb of Chandler, AZ, John (Michelle) Dale of Laguna Niguel, CA, Jeffrey Dale of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her brothers-in-law Greg (Carolyn) of Carroll, Iowa, Bill (Linda) of Loveland, CO, Mark (Sheila) of Spokane, WA, Nick (Renely) of Kailua, HI, Jonathan of Boulder, CO, sisters-in-law Joan Frasor of Golden Beach FL, Diane (Burt) Chojnowski of Fairfield, Iowa, and Nona (Chris) Siemann of Furlong, PA. Also important to Lynne were her many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, John (Jack) and Phyllis Dale and parents-in-law, Cecil and Vera Siemann, brothers-in-law Paul Siemann, Chris Siemann and Tom Frasor, sister-in-law Laura Siemann and nephew Kevin Frasor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Camp Okoboji, Iowa.

Lynne will be profoundly missed. Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and goodness—pure and simple. She would do anything to support her family and friends, and she had a remarkable gift for making people feel valued, welcomed, and deeply loved. Her love lives on in her husband Jim, her children, her grandchildren, her siblings, and the extended family and friends whose lives she enriched.

Lynne was loved.
