With profound sorrow, we share the passing of Marcelina Arenas, who left this world far too soon on June 18, 2025, at the age of 41.

Born on August 16, 1983, in San Diego, California, Marcelina was a woman of great warmth, strength, and generosity. A spirited soul, she approached life full steam ahead, embracing new adventures with open arms—whether she was lacing up for a marathon or diving into something unfamiliar with curiosity and joy. She lived with a good heart and a deep, unwavering love for the people in her life.

Anyone who knew Marcelina could attest that she was a true social butterfly. She had a gift for making people feel heard, welcomed, and uplifted. She was easy to talk to, always willing to lend an ear, and could lift spirits with her infectious laugh, playful personality, and unforgettable dance moves.

Marcelina’s greatest joy and most cherished role was being a mother to her two children, Reese and Zenaida Rose. They were the center of her world. Her love for them was unconditional, and more than anything, she wanted them to carry that love with them always and go on to lead good, full lives.

She is survived by her mother, Rosa; her husband, Francisco; her children, Zenaida and Reese; and numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.Marcelina was predeceased by her father, Lucio, whose memory she carried close to her heart.

A viewing to honor and remember Marcelina will be held on July 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Featheringill Mortuary, San Diego, California.

Marcelina’s love lives in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will continue to inspire us to show up fully for the people we care about. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
