Margaret Lou Dyer

Mrs. Margaret (Peggy) Lou Dyer, 94, of Santee, California, passed away peacefully in her home on December 19, 2025.

Born on May 19, 1931, to Ernie and Bessie Piatt, Peggy was raised in Bethesda, Ohio, where she attended and graduated from Bethesda High School. After graduation, she met Charles (Tom) Dyer of Barnesville, Ohio, and the two were soon married before he deployed for service in the navy.

Peggy raised their three children, Vicki, Denise, and Rick, while Tom served abroad, moving when the navy required, until his retirement. Peggy then entered the workforce as a civil defense contractor for the navy until her retirement in 1993.

Upon her retirement, Peggy volunteered her time at Edgemoor hospital as well as becoming an active member of the Methodist Church.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband Tom, her daughters Vicki and Denise, and her son, Rick.

She is survived by her three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at noon on Sunday, January 18th, at Santee United Methodist Church.

She will be laid to rest at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations in Peggy's name to be sent to the Santee United Women in Faith at Santee United Methodist Church.
