The death has occurred of Myra Kennedy

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Myra Kennedy, who died peacefully in San Diego, California, USA, on June 30th 2026 after a short illness, with her niece Geraldine and family by her side.

Myra dedicated her entire working life to the Jericho, Long Island Fire District where she served with commitment and distinction. She joined the Jericho Fire District on 1 October 1958 and remained a valued and dedicated member of staff until her retirement. Her loyalty, professionalism and years of devoted service earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Frank and Delia Kennedy, and her brother, Michael, Ireland.

Myra will be deeply mourned and sadly missed by her sister, Mrs Chris Geever (Birmingham); her sister-in-law, Anna Kennedy (Galway); her nephews and nieces; her grandnieces and grandnephews; her extended family, relatives, friends, neighbors, and former colleagues.

Myra will be laid to rest at Singing Hills Memorial Park following Mass at Saint Martin of Tours Catholic Church, La Mesa at 10am on July 17th, 2026.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.
