Mary Ellen Loker

November 27, 1941 — October 27, 2022

Lakeside, CA

Mary Ellen Loker, 81, of Lakeside, CA, passed away on October 27, 2022, after a relatively brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Mary was born on November 27, 1941, to William and Thelma Walker in Indianapolis, IN. In 1952 the family moved west to San Diego where she went on to attend Hoover High School.

In 1961, she met John Loker, and they wed in 1962, going on to have three children, Steven, David, and Lori.

Mary was a passionate quilter, loved to crochet and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in front of her sewing machine creating something beautiful or wrapped up in her daily devotions, reading the scriptures or preparing for bible study or prayer meetings. She also made a mean pumpkin pie. We will miss her greatly.

Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she readily shared with those who surrounded her.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, William and Thelma, her siblings Donice, Shirley, Ann and Billy, and her loving husband of 50 years, John. She is survived by her sister Brenda (Vince), children Steven (Krys), David (Jennifer) and Lori (Ty), grandchildren Joshua, Jeremy, Gabrielle, Nate, Elijah, Trevor, Kaylee, Coral, Jenifer, and Zachary. Also, great-grandchildren Revanna, Grayson, Camdyn, and Charlie.

“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.” ~ Exodus 23:20

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to El Cajon Wesleyan Church, 1500 E. Lexington Ave, El Cajon, CA 92019. There will be a memorial/celebration of life on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the location listed above.
