Michael Shane Pellegrino was born in Massena, New York on July 27, 1957 to Fred and Lorraine Pellegrino. Mike grew up in Vienna, Virginia just outside of Washington D. C. with two brothers Mark and Marshall who remained in Virginia. His passion was aviation. He studied aviation and flew small planes for a while. In his twenties Mike worked for a remodeling company. His skill as a builder and finish carpenter began his enjoyment of seeing a project start to finish. He went back to school for computer technology and worked in the Washington D. C. area for many large companies.
In 1990 Mike moved to San Diego, California and got a job at SDG&E in information technology.
Mike met Linda in November 1995, they were married February 20, 1999 at the Birch Aquarium. Their home gardens have a koi pond and a tropical paradise that Mike created. Mike painted, installed hard wood flooring and crown molding in their home. He planted roses for Linda and they are both members of the San Diego Rose Society.
Mike and Linda worked hard which allowed Mike to enjoy the things he loved. His yard. The roses, plumerias and the Koi pond. Their travel. Hawaii, Mike loved to snorkel, the Caribbean, and Mike’s dream trip to Italy. Mike and Linda traveled most every year to a Hawaiian Island and started taking cruises 13 years ago and loved it. They always had many trips planned.
Mike also dearly loved his friends and family. He spent a lot of time with many friends, always with his great laugh.
Additionally, Mike loved his California family like no other. He was amazingly good to his two nephews and two nieces. Planning Easter Egg hunts, going to many sporting events and taking them to theme parks when they got tall enough. He loved Linda’s two sisters and their husbands.
But what Mike loved most was his wife of 27 years. They did everything together. Mike said he was lucky to have Linda and to have shared such a wonderful love.
Mike’s time was too short. He will be missed by many as he was loved by many.
