Listen to Obituary

Patricia Eileen Moran of La Mesa, California, went into the Eternal Arms of our Lord on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Pat came from a large Catholic family of eight children, and all but her younger sister, Karen, have preceded her in death. She attended Holy Family Catholic Elementary and High School in Denver, Colorado. Patricia decided that she would pay for the last two years of her tuition for high school. She got a job and learned to tie fishing lures and rods for 50 cents an hour. She earned enough to pay for those two years at a tuition rate of between $75 and $100 per year. In high school, she studied Latin and was a reporter for the high school newspaper. She was also an excellent ice skater and enjoyed dancing.

In 1952, Patricia married her high school sweetheart, Jim Moran. They had all of their eight children in ten years! Jim, Mary, Sharon, Mike, Maureen, Margaret, Bill, and Dan!

Patricia’s career strength was in administration. She offered service and dedication in various positions in the real estate, church, and insurance industries. She worked at Faith Chapel Christian Church for many years with secretarial work as well as Sunday school. She also hosted Bible studies in her home for several years. After Faith Chapel, she moved on to being an Administrator at Mike Russ Real Estate and Insurance Schools. She enjoyed that work very much and became very close to the Russ Family. She also used her admin-strength in faith-based settings at Faith Chapel Church and La Mesa Light and Power Church; the latter pastored by the Reverend Dick Rodgers.

In all of these jobs, Pat showed her gifts of kindness and hospitality. This offered a safe haven where those surrounding her would grow and thrive. These relationships included infants, children, youth, men, and women that often lasted for decades.Pat served many meals to teens who would stop by “around” dinner time. She listened carefully to the teens who would confide in her and offered her advice and support. She was feeding the young men a good, home-cooked meal and a healthy serving of what the Lord had especially for them.

Patricia’s passions were family, gardening, cooking, and offering hospitality to friends and loved ones, most especially by lavishing attention on grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Over the course of the past fifty years, Patricia was involved with a large group of Christian women and this was a great source of comfort and fun for her.

Patricia attended her 70th High School reunion in Denver. She was accompanied by her daughters, Sharon and Mary. The night before the formal reunion, they all attended the Icebreaker. When Pat was greeted at the door, her daughters heard the exclamations of “Patty’s here! Patty’s here!” that started at the front of a very large house and grew much louder as she reached the back of the house. She was the “Belle of the Ball” that night and thoroughly enjoyed the attention.

She loved gardening and she truly enjoyed having flowers blooming in her yard and on her patio. In the final years of her life, she was spoiled with orchids.

Patricia led a simple life that was surrounded by family. In her later years, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She bore that bravely until her peaceful death at age 90.

Her greatest passion was as a Peaceful Warrior for the Lord and her every expression exuded from the Holy Spirit. She was either telling you about the Lord or showing you the acts of the Holy Spirit in her work and deeds. She left a Legacy of Faith for the Lord, and that is evident byhaving eight children, all surviving and in Salvation with God.

And when Patricia Eileen entered the Gates of Heaven, you could likely hear,“Patty’s Here! Patty’s Here!
