Listen to Obituary

Patt was born in Harlingen, Texas to her parents, Patricia and Gerald Egan. She was raised in several places due to her father’s produce business, with her formative years in Bakersfield, CA. In 1966, while in Idaho, she met and married the love of her life, Clancy. They soon settled in San Diego where Patt was a devoted wife and mother. They lovingly raised their four now-married children, Mark (Lorie), Maureen Quessenberry (Darrell), Michael (Connie), and Daniel (Becky) in Clairemont, and were married for 54 years before Clancy passed away in 2021.

Patt was very active in her community with leadership roles in scouting and PTA, receiving local, state, and national recognition. She was an avid and excellent bridge player and enjoyed attending musical and theatrical productions. She loved to drive, was a serious football fan, and was well known for telling a tall tale. Patt was incredibly proud of her Irish heritage and took the whole family to Ireland for the Egan clan reunion in 2000 and to the LA reunion in 2014.

Diagnosed with dementia, Patt spent her final years at ActivCare Mission Bay where she was lovingly cared for by the staff and hospice nurse Kate. She died peacefully in her sleep. She will be immensely missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a funeral mass and reception at St. Catherine Laboure on July 14th at 11am.
