Peter Mark Crawford

Peter Mark Crawford, beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, passed away on August 14, 2025, in San Diego, California, at the age of 73. Born on March 13, 1952, in Oakland, California, Peter lived a life full of career achievements and good times and earned his reputation as the life of the party among family and friends. He was with Susie for 51 years, ever since the first day they met in 1974 while working at Denny's in Pacific Beach.

Peter was a talented mechanical engineer, known for his innovative ideas and steadfast dedication to his work. His professional contributions and work ethic inspired many and left a lasting impact on the engineering community. He was as passionate about life as he was about his career, drawing people in with his vibrant spirit, clever jokes and infectious laughter.

In his final years, Peter battled chronic pain and complications from metastasized prostate cancer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Susan, and his loving daughter, Sherry. He is survived also by his son, William Steven Turner, who he finally met face to face in 2010. He has a dear family of brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews that each has an endearing story to tell about Peter. They all carry forward his legacy of warmth, amusing storytelling and a special joy for life.
