It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Phillip Wayne Pedigo, affectionately known as Phil, who departed from this world on March 23, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on June 10, 1939, Phil led a life full of adventure, love, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
Phil's journey began in his service to the Army, a time during which he met the love of his life, Margit. Their bond was deepened through shared experiences and a commitment to one another that lasted a lifetime. Margit, along with his parents Emmett and Helen Pedigo, and siblings Cherie Guerrero and Robert Pedigo, welcomed him into the loving arms of eternity, where they will all be reunited once again.
Professionally, Phil was known for his dedication and skill as a butcher, a role he embraced at the Navy Commissary throughout much of his life.
Outside of his career, Phil had a variety of interests that enriched his life. He found joy in combing the beaches with his metal detector, uncovering hidden treasures that told stories from the past. As an avid ham radio enthusiast, Phil forged connections and friendships across the globe, often sharing a laugh or a heartfelt conversation with people he considered friends despite the miles between them. His creativity extended to crafting model boats, each creation reflecting his attention to detail and his love for the art form.
Phil leaves behind his son, Martin Pedigo, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer, who together strive to carry forward his legacy of love and resilience. He also leaves a remarkable lineage consisting of his beloved grandchildren, Daniel Pedigo, Heather Doran (Derrick), Amanda Fowlke, and five great-grandchildren, who carry a piece of his spirit in their hearts.
Phil's departure feels far too soon for all who knew and loved him. He was a gentle soul, always ready to lend a hand or share a story. His legacy is one of kindness, friendship, and the unbreakable bonds of family.
As we reflect on the life of Phil, let us celebrate the moments shared, the laughter that resonated, and the love that will forever remain in our hearts. He may have left us in body, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us in ways that only he could.
