Richard William Hartman

Richard William Hartman, born on February 9, 1935, in Hammond, Indiana to William and Evelyn Hartman, left this world on December 2, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of Frances Marie Hartman, with whom he shared a lifetime of joy, laughter, and unwavering commitment.

Richard leaves behind a legacy of love through his surviving children: Paula Sue Brumfiel (Denny), Teresa Aitchison (John), Dennis Hartman, and Kevin Hartman, as well as the families of his deceased children; Richard W. Hartman Jr. (Tammy) and Thomas Hartman (Sharon), 12 grandchildren; Shawn Hartman, Jeffrey Tosha Jr., Richard T. Hartman, Jason Tosha, Crystal Martin, Joshua Hartman, Nicholas Hartman, Marissa Hartman, Andrew Aitchison, Alisha Hartman, Ian Aitchison, Emma Hartman, many greatgrandchildren, and 3 great-greatgrandchildren who were his pride and joy.

While living in Hammond, Indiana, Richard became a Lather and joined the Union at the age of 16. He was a member of the Lather union for more than 70 years. Richard and Frances relocated to Montclair, California in 1961 where they lived until 2011, then moved to Ontario, California.

Richards life was shaped by the bonds of family and the enduring love he shared with his wife, Frances. Richard met Frances when they were both 15. They married on March 28, 1953 and were married for 70 years.

He joins two of his sons Richard W. Hartman Jr. and Thomas L. Hartman, his grandson Joshua Hartman, his great-granddaughter, Andrea Miller, in eternity as well as his brother James Hartman and his sisters Helen Young, Betty Kretchmer, and Lucille Rogers, who preceded him in death.

As we bid farewell to Richard Hartman, we remember a man whose kindness, warmth, and unwavering love created a legacy that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with his loved ones in the embrace of God's love.
