Robert Ralph Draper

Robert "Pop-Pop" Ralph Draper, 85, of La Mesa, Ca., passed away peacefully in his home on April 7, 2023 with his loving family beside him. Robert was born on December 26, 1937 to Lowell Eugene Draper & Willie Hall Sheley in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He entered the United States Navy on September 12, 1955 and did 9 tours in Vietnam. He retired on March 16, 1979. Afterwards, he went on to work for the Grossmont School District at Helix High School. Ultimately retiring from there in September 1996.

Robert met his wife, Ellen Marie Hansen, in 1957 in New York. They were married, January 19, 1959, for a total of 64 years at the time of his passing. Robert had 5 children: Benjamin Eugene Draper, Lolarraine Annette Draper, William Lester Draper, Robert Michael Draper, & Raymond Curtis Draper. He was predeceased by: Lowell Eugene Draper (Father), Willie Hall Sheley (Mother), William Eugene Draper (Brother), & Benjamin Eugene Draper (Son). Robert is survived by his wife Ellen, 4 children, 18 grandchildren, & 20 Great-grandchildren.
