42
Sabrina was the only daughter of Eddy Joe Lee McKibben and Jacquelyn Lee McKibben.
In the world of Science Fiction that Sabrina loved, 42 is the Ultimate answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything!
Growing up, Sabrina didn't understand why other kids didn't want to be her friend. She was diagnosed with a Developmental Disability in the first grade. This diagnosis was, eventually, integrated into the Autism Spectrum, but we didn't realize that until many years later. Sabrina graduated from Mt. Miguel High School in 2002 and from there started working. First as a Yard Attendant at Rancho Elementary, then Lunch Lady at High Tech High. Then she tried retail but after suffering a broken back and seizures she couldn't work standing all day. In 2008 she started working for the Registrar of Voters as the Assistant Precinct Inspector in Lemon Grove. She loved working the elections and worked for the ROV until 2023.
In 2014, after her dad passed, she was given a ticket to Comic-Con. This changed Sabrina's whole focus in life! She found a “Community” of people like her. She was a member of the San Diego WhoCon Committee and volunteered for The Hellmouth Convention for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Sabrina loved Cosplay. Learned sword fighting and performed at the Escondido Renaissance Faire as a pirate in the opening battle. Sabrina loved all things Disney and live music concerts. Understanding her disabilities helped Sabrina become the wonderful, kind, happy young lady she was.
After Sabrina graduated from Mt. Miguel, she joined the Alumni Marching Band Colorguard for several years until her back problems caused her to stop.
Sabrina is survived by her mother, Jacquelyn and 3 brothers that lived with her, Jim Hicks (Jessica), John McKibben (LaVonne), Joe McKibben (Kelly) 6 nieces and nephews, her Aunt Judy and many others in Texas. Plus 4 half siblings Tammy, Eddy, Debra, and Sean.
