Her love, faith, laughter, and the beautiful memories she gave us will live forever in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Sandra Lopez was born in Washington, North Carolina, on September 9, 1957, and was raised by her grandmother, Winnie Bell Lewis.

Sandra was working at a radio station and her future husband was a bartender when they met at Jean’s Place in Havelock, North Carolina. They were married on July 19, 1991. In 1996, she moved to San Diego, California, with her family.

Sandra worked as an apartment manager, and many of her tenants became close family friends. Anyone who met her loved her. She began attending Life Church (New Life Center), where she had a passion for singing on the praise team and worshiping the Lord. She always loved attending the women’s retreats with all her sisters from church.

Sandra loved God, her church, and her family more than anything else in the world. She loved cooking for her family, and we still make some of her favorite dishes to this day. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite holidays because she was surrounded by the people she cherished most. She loved decorating the house and the Christmas tree, treasured her special Christmas ornaments, and loved seeing the grandkids’ faces as they opened their endless amounts of presents.

Sandra fought long and hard to stay here with the family she loved so deeply, holding on for as long as she could. At 12:42 a.m. on Monday, August 3, with her loving husband by her side, Mom peacefully went home to be with Jesus and to sing with the angels.

Sandra was preceded in death by her first son, Jeremy, who passed away at birth. She is now reunited with him in Heaven. Sandra leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, Tim Lopez; her beloved children, Chris, Jackie, Brianna, and Timmy; and the grandchildren who brought so much joy to her life: Katelyn, Isabella, Winter, Charlie, Landon, Jaiden, Lucas, and Chase. She is also survived by her dear sister, Juanita Sykes; her niece, Victoria; and her nephew, Mark Jr. Her family was her greatest joy and the center of her world. The love she gave them will remain in their hearts, guiding and comforting them for the rest of their lives.

She was deeply loved by so many and will be missed beyond words. Her love, faith, laughter, and the beautiful memories she gave us will live forever in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Though she is no longer here with us, her presence will always be felt, and she will never be forgotten.

Celebration of life will be held on September 5th, at 5:00pm at Life Church 1448 Peach Ave El Cajon Ca 92021.
