Stephen Joseph Maier

Stephen Joseph Maier, 84, of San Diego, CA, peacefully passed away on August 4, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Stephen was a dedicated husband who loved his wife, Terri, very much. He also was a good father and grandfather to his daughters and grandchildren. Stephen served as a Marine for 3 years (1957-1960). He also worked as a Civil Engineer at the County of San Diego.

He was married to Theresa A. Maier for 62 years. Stephen is survived by his wife, Theresa A. Maier, children Lara M. Sigmon and Dawn T. Maier; grandchildren Hailey J. Maier, Ayla Fleming, Ousseynou Kouyate, Faba Kouyate, and Michael Sigmon; brother Julian Maier of Wappingers Falls, New York.

A family-only viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m. at Featheringill Mortuary on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. In addition, a mass will be held on Wednesday, September 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala Church. A military honors service will be held on September 9, 2021, at Miramar National Cemetery Pavilion at 9:00 a.m.
