Stuart Christian Taylor-Low, 43 years old, passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2022 in La Mesa, CA.

Stuart was born October 29, 1978 at The United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO to Denise (Hideg) Low and Colin Low. He married his soulmate, Chris Taylor-Low in 2013 in Washington, DC.

Stuart is survived by husband of nine years, Chris Taylor-Low of La Mesa, CA; mother Denise Low of Colorado Springs, Colorado; father Colin and his wife Lisa Low, of La Veta, Colorado; brother Jonathan and his wife Holly and their son, Elias Low, of Bury St Edmunds United Kingdom; grandmother Norma Wimer of Newark, Ohio. He is also survived by aunts and uncles along with many cousins and innumerable friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Carol Carlisle of Newark, Ohio, and maternal grandfather Louis D. Hideg of Hebron, Ohio; paternal grandparents Peter and Dorothy Low of Whittier, California.

Stuart had many interests and a passion for the arts, education, photography and physical fitness. He was a prolific reader and a lifetime learner. Stuart dreamed of becoming a teacher in the creative arts field. He was continually recognized for his outstanding work, especially with the Chamber Dance Project and the Shakespeare Theater Company, both in Washington DC. He was most recently the Director of Graphic Design at EDU Business Solutions in San Diego California. Additionally, Stuart was a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts of San Diego.

Stuart’s love for education led to his acceptance into the pre-doctoral program in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences at the University of San Diego. He was extremely excited to join the USD faculty as a lecturer and teach his first undergraduate class on September 1st. His educational accomplishments include earning a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts in Art & Political Science, both with highest honors, from Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego, CA.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 3:00 pm (PST) at University Christian Church located at 3900 Cleveland Ave, San Diego, CA 92103. Associate Minster Marshela Salgado-Solorio will officiate. For those unable to attend, a live stream of the service will be provided by the University Christian Church at https://www.facebook.com/uchristianchurch. A Facebook account is not required for viewing the live stream.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that guests consider a donation in Stuart’s name for the Department of Art & Design at Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego CA, at https://connections.pointloma.edu/StuartChristianTaylorLow, or to a charity of your choice. This enduring endowment will help provide a path for others with similar interests and passions as Stuart to reach their goals and dreams with knowledge, study, and creativity in the arts.
