Susie June Wolfe

June 21, 1922 — April 16, 2022

Susie June Wolfe was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. June died April 16, 2022 after a stroke at the age of 99.



The 11th child of 14 siblings, June was born to John William Bay and Mary Rebbecca Byerly Bay on June 21, 1922 in Dent County, Missouri. June arrived in San Diego in 1938 to live with her sister Edna Wood and help with her growing family. San Diego became her permanent home in 1940 after graduating from San Diego High School. June married Richard Wolfe on January 27, 1944. They raised their family in San Diego and were married for 68 years. Richard passed in 2013 at the age of 90.



June worked as a clerk at Challenge Dairy for over 40 years. She served faithfully as church treasurer and numerous other positions at Oak Park Baptist Church. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for 70 years and was a volunteer on the Oak Park Town Council. For the last 35 years, she has been an active member of Del Cerro Baptist Church with participation in Women’s Missionary Union, Joymakers, and the Christmas Story Tree at Balboa Park.



June is survived by three daughters, Susan Duncan, Joyce Dentt (her husband Rick), Janine Joseph (her husband Thomas), nine grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
