Wayne D’Adamo, affectionately known as “Roadrunner,” passed away on August 10, 2025, at the age of 63. Born July 6, 1962, in El Cajon, California, Wayne lived a life filled with devotion to family, hard work, strong friendships, and a passion for adventure.
Wayne was the beloved husband of Teresa D’Adamo, whom he married on May 18, 2013, and remained deeply close to throughout his life. He was a proud father to his daughter, Stephanie D’Adamo of Fort Worth, Texas, and the cherished firstborn son of Warren and Wanda D’Adamo. He is also survived by his brother, Glenn D’Adamo. Wayne was previously married to Stephanie’s mother, Nancy D’Adamo, with whom he shared many years before their divorce in 2007.
Wayne grew up in La Mesa and attended Lexington Elementary, Parkway Junior High, and Helix High School. At Helix, he excelled in athletics—playing freshman football, competing on the track team where he qualified for the Olympics in shot put, and becoming an accomplished varsity heavyweight wrestler.
For 34 years, Wayne proudly served the City of San Diego as an Equipment Technician II, working in several departments including Streets, Bridge Crew, and finally Parks and Recreation. Known for his mechanical skills and resourcefulness, he earned the nickname “MacGyver” from friends, coworkers, and family alike. He was also trained as an Emergency Medical Technician, always ready to lend a hand when needed.
Wayne found joy in the outdoors, sharing many hunting and fishing trips with his father and brother. He was a lifelong learner, constantly picking up new skills, whether working on cars, motorcycles, or projects around the house. His hobbies were many—gardening, woodworking, cooking, barbecuing, thrift store treasure hunting, and simply tinkering in his garage.
Wayne was a proud and longtime member of the Lakeside Saddletramps Motorcycle Club, where his brothers honored him with the road name “Roadrunner” because he was always on the move—whether at work or on rides with his wife and club family. He faithfully served the club as Sergeant at Arms for many years and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He and Teresa cherished countless miles together on the open road, enjoying local music venues, trips to Sturgis and Northern California, and especially the annual Gold Coast Run, their favorite ride of all.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda D’Adamo, and his grandparents, Saverio and Ida D’Adamo; Earnest & Velma McGee and great-grandparents (Ernest McGee; Lillie Jackson. He is survived by his wife, daughter, father, brother and many extended family and friends.
Wayne will be remembered for his generosity, his adventurous spirit, his unwavering love of family, and the countless ways he brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
